Turkeys are only raised for around 14-22 weeks before they’re slaughtered. And with Thanksgiving 15 weeks away, that means that the little turkeys destined to be killed for the holiday are growing up right this moment. Tai came to us from a hoarding case but she is the same breed as most of the turkeys you’ll see on the shelves come the fall. She is sweet, independent, intelligent, curious, adventurous, and not a product. She and her sisters are individual sentient beings, who have a lot of life left to live. We’d hate to imagine her only having 22 weeks of life to live. Tai is safe at Woodstock but we wish all turkeys could live the life she has.
