All hail the glorious vision of brilliant production designer @sue.chan.pd who built Kya’s house from scratch on location tucked into the live oaks on a breathtaking lagoon, and imagined the trees that would surround it before they were even there. Every time I watch the movie I am in awe of how she made Kya’s house look so remote and infused every wall, every piece of peeling wallpaper and crumbling paint with history and meaning.
