Scans from Kyoichi Tsuzuki's incredible 2008 book, 'Happy Victims', which captures the interiors of individuals who have dedicated their wardrobes (and paychecks) to collecting the output of specific fashion brands and designers, ranging from FÖTUS and Baby The Stars Shine Bright to Helmut Lang and Martin Margiela. Like a lot of the Japanese fashion documentation I've shared on the page, one of the things I love about this book is the way the images combine with the text to create a dialogue that emphasises a very human type of eccentricity over a more 2-dimensional profile of consumerism (similarly, I always loved how Kerouac Magazine defined their output as being 'For Excentric Boys and Girls').
I've shared these images partly as a primer for the next installment of my 'Style Surveys' photo series, which - like Happy Victims - is also focused on collectors, representing an equally diverse set of obsessions as seen here, with some of those profiled collecting the same brands (and, in a couple of cases, possessing even more expansive collections!) 🔜🔜🔜

NB, I spent all afternoon scanning the book and it was incredibly hard to narrow these down, so I may post another set soon..!
