If you’re still posting wide video, get with the times. Every social media platform allows you to post vertical video, and given that the majority of viewers will be seeing your content on their smartphone, it only makes sense to shoot in a vertical format. Not only will this ensure the highest quality viewing experience, it will also give you an edge from an algorithm standpoint, as Tiktok and Instagram favor the 9:16 aspect ratio. This is how to shoot vertically: the easy way, and the hard way... If you’re shooting on your smartphone, simply turn your phone vertical and violà! Your content just got a serious face lift. If you’re using a DSLR, you’ll need to adjust your tripod so that your camera sits on its side. Shoot in your normal settings and watch the likes roll in when you post that beautiful VERTICAL video. As for the hard way, and I stress that this method should only be used if absolutely necessary, you will shoot your original video in the wide, horizontal format (4K if possible), and then crop it into the 9:16 vertical ratio in your video editor. And when you’re shooting, make sure to keep your subject centered so that they don’t get cropped out in the vertical cut. How do you shoot your videos? Are you team iPhone or team DSLR? #v#videographyp#photographyv#videoc#contentcreationv#videographerc#cinematographyf#filmmakingv#videoproductionf#filmmakerf#fypi#instagramf#filmv#videoofthedayv#videosi#instagoodv#videoshootc#cinematographerc#cinematica#arts#sonyv#videoeditsp#photop#photoshootl#likedirector
