You may have heard that Mark Bradford's "Pickett's Charge" (2017) is 12 feet tall and 400 feet long, but do you truly know how big that is? For reference, the artist is six feet, eight inches tall - and here he is on a step-ladder during the installation of "Pickett's Charge." While the work can be broken down into eight abstract paintings that each measure more than 45 feet long, together they form a monumental installation that spans the entire Third Level inner-circle galleries of the Hirshhorn.
Come see how you stack up to "Mark Bradford: Pickett's Charge" in person, only at the national museum of modern art.
