Five days until ‘Loose Future.’ 🥹 In 2020, I thought my life was over. For three months I listened to nothing but one Billie Holiday record, and walked until my legs were sore. Death felt near, and dying alone felt terrifying. A friend called and said she was living in a shack on the Cape. I van-camped my way up to her, expecting only to stay for a week. A week turned into months, eventually landing at an artist residency in the area. My world blew open. I healed, went on an awkward pandemic date, turned off my phone, continued to walk until my legs fell off, and regained contact with myself and the muse. For the first time in my adult life, I began to be kinder to my journey, and to the feet that lead me. This record is knowing anything is possible, including pain and heartbreak, including love and security— if you’d only just let it in.
