Here’s some tips & tricks that helped me write my personal statement ! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I just submitted applications for biomedical science masters programs and wrote my personal statement the same way I would for med school. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is what I did: 📷 look through old photos/ journal entries/ notes and reminisce about your most impactful premed experiences ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🥲 feel all the feels! this is a reflective process and can be very emotional ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✍️ write down your top 2 most impactful personal and professional experiences ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👩‍⚕️ ask yourself, “how did this experience make me want to be a physician” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍹 have a drink (or two) and really dive into your subconscious ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤮 word vomit all over the page. don’t worry about the 5300 character count for now, just focus getting your story into words ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ HUUGEEEE thank you to @kcalcano and her guidance in helping me with my personal statement.
