I’m Kaella Madix, owner and creative director of @madixandco. It’s been a while since I popped on to say hello so I thought I’d show the face behind this business. I launched my company over 11 years ago (originally under the name Kaella Lynn Events). The other day my younger brother asked me “how does it feel to have grown up to be such a successful person?” His question left me speechless, which if you know me, you know is very hard to do. For the first time in a while (especially with the impact of the pandemic on our industry), I paused to reflect on myself from an outer perspective. I’m generally focused on growth - personal, professional, etc. I don’t really stop or slow down to consider that I have, in fact, reached the level of success that I dreamt of 11 years ago (even as a teen). And you know what? It feels really really good! I’m a single mother who is financially independent, doing what she loves as a profession, living in my favorite city, surrounded by a wonderful community. Thank you to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, collaborated with me and hired me! There is so much more ahead, but I’m reminded the importance of taking pause to be proud of where you are in the present. We should all make this a regular practice. 📸 @mikelarson
