WTF is Tight-Lining & WHY you need it 🤷‍♀️ Tight-Lining - the art of turning a model’s eye inside out to trace a black line to reduce the visibility of her pink rims; defining the eye to the nth degree, all while trying to be stealth AF to avoid the waterworks & not send her blind 😅 If you overthink it you’ll mess it up - and send her blind... but seriously the more I think about it, my hands become less steady. It’s literally an art form of “in and out” with the maximum stroke rate of two entries per eye, all whilst keeping the brush at the perfect pressure as too light will feel like her brain is being tickled. So why do we do this seemingly torturous act? Because it really is the icing on the cake when it comes to defining a lined eye. Getting rid of any visible rims will make the eyes look more finished and some people have bigger rims than others, some super visible when they eyes are opened and some quite pink/red toned. Especially on eyes like in this reel that have lash extensions - it makes them pop. But when shouldn’t we do this? If the intention is NOT to also line the bottom waterline then I highly suggest not tight-lining as anything you apply on the top will eventually transfer to the bottom - waterproof or not. A wet area like the eye will eventually move from top to bottom and if your eyes are the type that are closed up by bottom waterline liner, this will be problematic. I always prefer to use a gel/cream liner rather than a pencil for this as it applies more evenly and easier in my opinion. Like, Share & Comment if you resonate with this one!
