Introducing Sam and Ericka. Sam is our pastry chef, Ericka is this glorious bottle of wine which we are just getting to know - and finding delight at every moment. New to our lists with a touch of skin contact, the gentlest hint of oak, exotic, complex, dry and rich. The vines, Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng, are more frequently used for sweet wines. It is unusual for these grapes to find a dry expression - the grapes are picked earlier, which means that the bright, aromatic roundness that you would find in the sweet wine still come through, but are underpinned with a wonderfully balanced acidity. A real staff favourite, particularly on these changeable Summer days of warmth and fresh breezes. Ericka, we haven’t known you for very long, but we love you. (And Sam, of course. The same to you.
