On February, 16 2021 I received a call that plays back in my mind over and over as something so awful it could only be fiction. My sister's partner called me to inform me the Texas freeze that swept through their state resulted in a catastrophic fire in my sister's home. I was not fully processing everything she said in that three minute phone call. When I hung up, I did my best to communicate to my family between my screams and tears the facts as I knew them. My sister's home was destroyed in the fire, she was okay but is in the hospital being treated for burns and smoke inhalation. My beautiful nieces Coco and Livi and sweet nephew Edison along with their loving grandmother did not survive the fire. There is nothing that can possibly prepare you to such a tragedy. When it's your own family you feel so helpless, angry, lost, sad and pain. It has been a year and half since that day. No one feels the loss more than my sister. To say that life has been cruel to her is the understatement of the century. She made the decision to honor her kids instead of crumbling under the insurmountable grief and pain. I know there are days that are too painful and unbearable to even function for her but the strength that she has to make certain their lives will never be forgotten is what gives her purpose. So if you could all take the time to follow the CEO Foundation on all their socials, it would be appreciated. I know they have a lot of amazing things coming up. I love you Jackie Pham. I know Colette, Edison and Olivia are proud of you and the foundation 🌈✨🌙
