Back on the SR stuff properly — before the originals start, you’re getting a run of wild reworks of some incredible artists. When it’s complete, all of these mixes will line up as an album and stand up as a body of work in themselves. This is one of a set of reworks of @mrgoldie and James Davidson’s @subjectivemusicofficial song Sunlight — I pretty much finished it off here in Miami at Criteria Studios on Friday, an amazing facility that is part of The Hit Factory studio group. It’s where Fleetwood Mac recorded some of Rumours, also where the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack was recorded as well as being at the heart of hundreds of platinum discs. Hallowed ground, basically. Goldie recorded Digital with KRS One in the NY branch as well, so there’s another bit of synergy there. There are more Subjective reworks on their way too. I always knew I would work with Goldie when the time was right, and I play a very long game with these things — if it’s meant to be, it’s already done in my mind.
