“Two Times” is the name I have been given by my editor Kierna Mayo of One World/Roc-Lit 101 imprint of PenguinRandom House. I accepted this humbly telling myself it was my indigenous native title and I liked it. It came to be when it was learned that I had two birthday dates associated to me. September 29th and 30th. My mother said it was the 30th until I went to live my father at the age of 12 yrs, he proved it was the 29th. My mother said it was 3 mins after 12 midnight, my father proved by certificate of birth, that it was 3 mins before 12 midnight. I frowned upon this news. I liked my birthday being the 30th. My father, the cool dude he was, said you can keep what you like, just know it’s the 29th for legal purposes. I have never celebrated it on the 29th, no matter, who or what. Nor acknowledge that it is when it’s brought to my attention or if someone knows it’s the 29th and greets me with a birthday greeting. Because you cannot be private anymore, there’s the media, the internet, etc. So I correct them by saying “It’s tomorrow”. I know...it’s unusual, but there in lies the origin of “two times” that I love as much as I do September 30th. All to say Happy Birthday to me because where I am It’s after 12 midnight. This is a very special time in life for me. Got through the other decades with barely a scratch and coming upon this one, I needed to up my game. Prepare my body and mind for something new. Learn more then I knew before about living a more meaningful and healthier life to commit to for the next decade. So I gifted myself a trip to a Holistic Wellness Center in Turkey. Time to learn what better can I do to maintain good health for the coming years. Brilliant decision as I being educated daily and challenged to live even better. I do not take my good health for granted and yet could do better. At this full grown age I need to feed my body what’s best for it not just what I like. Time to grow up. Besides having to consider changing my diet, I want to be around great people. And laugh a lot to the very end as we make a difference in this world. It’s my birthday and I am determine to make a difference now starting with me.🎂 #LifeCoBodrum
