Wow. That one felt good. Stoked to hit a Stage 1 buzzer for the 4th consecutive time! After my fall in semis, I realized I needed to reevaluate my overall strategy for competing on the show this year. In the past, I’d always approached my course runs with a ‘slow and steady’ mentality and avoiding mistakes at all costs. That approach may have worked in previous seasons, but it clearly backfired in LA. Heading into Vegas, I knew I needed to switch it up and take intentional, calculated risks. With Stage 2 in mind, I decided to opt specifically for a ‘go-for-it’ approach to Stage 1 this year, taking the high risk, high reward option at split decision. In my mind, I’d committed to this path ahead of time and was completely at peace with whatever outcome occurred. Giving myself the space to take risks felt truly liberating. Glad it worked out in the end as well 🙂 Excited to take this momentum next week into Stage 2!
