A passage to India “Borneo Pigmy Elephants” series. The mythological and cultural Hindu belief have established elephants as sacred symbols of peace, mental strength, and power. Indonesia was influenced by Hindu - Bhudist culture between 5th to 15th century, making Elephant a popular symbol. Elephants represent many things: they're symbols of luck and prosperity, but they are also powerful beings that use their mighty strength to remove obstacles and negative forces. The Borneo elephant, also called the Bornean elephant or the Borneo pygmy elephant, is a subspecies of Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) that inhabits northeastern Borneo, in Indonesia and Malaysia inspires @ghearesort for their Borneo Collection. The population of elephants in Kalimantan continues to dwindle as a result of damage to protected forests. As of April 2012 an estimated 20–80 elephants range near 22 villages in the Sebuku subdistrict of Nunukan district in North Kalimantan. #GHEAIndianJourney #SaveBorneoPigmyElephants #GHEAResortbyAmandaJanna #MaytheForestbewithYou
