TIPS FOR VISITING LAKE TAHOE IN SUMMER โ๏ธ (save this post for later)!
Blog posts in the works, but here are a few things you need to know if you're headed to Lake Tahoe this summer!
๐ My #1 tip is to get to all the beaches EARLY. Parking is limited and many of the lots fill up by 9 or 10 am in summer especially on weekends. The hardest beaches we found to park at were Sand Harbor and DL Bliss State Park beaches!
๐ฅพ Pack hiking shoes or sneakers even for beach days as many of the best beaches require some time of steep hike on loose sand or long walk down to the beach
๐ค Get out on the waterโwhether it's by kayak, paddle board or boat, make sure to get a different perspective on the lake from the water as you get some of the best views this way. You can rent day-of kayaks or paddle boards with Clearly Tahoe at their tent at Sand Harbor, which provides easy access to Bonsai Rock and Chimney Beach, but if you want the clear kayaks you need to book in advance (I'd recommend a couple weeks ahead of time!)
๐ The most beautiful beaches in my opinion that you can't miss are Secret Cove, Whale Beach, Creek Beach (these three are all within walking distance), Hidden Beach and Sugar Pine Point.
๐
For sunset, head to Cave Rock, Monkey Rock and Bonsai Rock (lol all the rocks)
๐ For sunrise: Drive over to Inspiration Point overlooking Emerald Bay
๐บ For food and drinks: Don't miss live music every night at South of North Brewing, the cutest coffee shop meets bookstore at Cuppa Tahoe and the most divine bread pudding at Macduff's Pub. For a delicious fancier dinner out, make a reservation at Edgewood.
More coming soon! โ๐ผ
