A few days ago our house burnt down. Everyone home got out safe, Josh was overseas with fam and we're all OK. It was lit by an Arson and fortunately they were caught on video by neighbours and I believe now caught by police. It's a pretty surreal experience. Felt like we were the center of the universe for a second. Still hasn't sunk in yet. The house is destroyed but quite miraculously we managed to salvage a lot of our stuff. Our stuff is pretty messed up from smoke and the spray and the heat but it could have been far worse. Incredibly grateful to the fire department. No one takes them for granted but until you see and experience the work they do its hard to gauge and appreciate how noble these people are. Also incredibly helpful were The Red Cross and The Police. Especially humbled by the effort from our friends and the community in general. INSPIRATIONAL. Everyone came through for us bigtime. I'm gonna have to do a separate thank you post, too many to name. Really humbled and grateful that we had this network of good humans. We're now looking for a spot or spots to live. I will need temp or maybe even permanent studio space to work.
