2012, in Columbia, SC. I was tasked with the assignment to capture @omarihardwickofficial at the Black Expo. Little did I know the impact he would have on me. From him sharing his story about his football career to getting into acting and his poetry. One thing he said was he never quit and he stayed close to God. He told me he had not figured it out but he trusted God and as I look at all his success today and how far he has come. I’m reminded to never quit. He not only spoke on being humble but showed it to me. I remember us sitting down to eat and afterwards, this woman came to grab out plates and Omari stopped her and said no ma’am, we will dispose of our trash. She then said to him, it’s my job. Instead he said to me, Rudy follow my lead, we walked around the entire room and collected everyone trash and disposed of it. This taught me a valuable lesson that I haven’t forgotten. No matter how high people may see you as, humble yourself because it could all be taken away. Omari, even ten years later I have never forgotten that day and the impact you’ve had on my life.
