Senegalese Wresting match. I’m pretty sure he let me win. I wrestled last time I was in Senegal in 2016, so the moment I entered this village of Santhiou Sine, I joked with the men and pretended to wrestle them and we all had a good laugh. Little did I know this would cause them to set up a big match for me! I love these treks because you learn so much about the culture and the community is thrilled to share a part of their life with you. They excitedly dressed Lyrik and I up in traditional wrestling attire and taught us the rituals they use to protect the wrestling space from their opponent who is casting negative energy toward them. So we obliged VERY DRAMATICALLY and with a little @wwe showmanship, doing everything they said to claim the space for a safe and successful match. I’ll never forgot this experience.
