Thrilled to announce that I’m joining @Kickstarter as their new CEO. I’m excited to join a company that’s so aligned with my personal mission to help artists, creators and entrepreneurs out there in the world - especially those who don’t have the resources and the same advantages others may have. Since its inception, Kickstarter has had close to 7 billion dollars pledged to creators all over the world and has helped more than 225k creative projects come to life. These projects have brought new beautiful things into the world that have brought joy to many people - from art, film, games, tech, comics, fashion, literature, and more. It’s created companies and businesses, helped create jobs in the economy, and most importantly, it has helped anyone with an idea or dream be able to make it a reality. I’m humbled to be able to lead such an incredible team at Kickstarter with such a meaningful mission and also to serve a devoted community that’s so passionate about the platform. I want to thank our co-founder/exec chairman Perry Chen and the Kickstarter Board: Fred Wilson, Michael Lynton, Sunny Bates, Casey Gerald, Sep Kamvar, and Jess Search for entrusting me with such an incredible company and brand. I’m also thankful for Sean Leow, Jon Leland, Diane Peters and the rest of the Kickstarter team for welcoming me with open arms. Lastly, I want to thank each and every person who has supported me on my journey to get to this point, it hasn’t been an easy one and I appreciate you all for continuing to believe in me. I’m excited to get started, this is only just the beginning 💚
