Replying to @Lori Huneke this hot tub is $11k 😵‍💫 here's how we transformed our backyard into a relaxing oasis with our cedar hot tub! The cabin's yard is very steep. The first step was to add steps leading to the lower level, and then build a floating wood deck to the lower level (which was just gravel) so it's easy to walk on. Then our lovely contractor laid down a cement block and build a whole mini deck for the tub to sit on since our goal was to build something that you could just sink right into. Then our $12k tub arrived and we decided to roll it down the hill to avoid a ~$1.5k crane rental. And it worked, but I wouldn't recommend it. It took a while to find a local expert who knew how to install cedar hot tub piping, but he hooked everything up. To answer the comment question - the tub stays on 24/7 so it doesn't freeze over. After the piping was installed, the contractor finished building the deck around the tub and added a little door so our maintenance guy could get under to the motor. Final touch was adding the railing for safety and tons of string lights for vibes. All in all, this project cost around $30k 🫣 with all the parts and labor that went into this. But it's truly the hero of our cabin and late night soaks with friends under the stars favorite part of visiting the mountains. 📍 PS book a stay at our Whimsy Homes Cabin in Arnold via the link in our bio #hottub #cedarhottub #whimsyhomes #arnoldca #airbnb #airbnbhost #visitcalifornia #diy #backyardmakeover #yardzen #yardideas #cabin #cabinlife #visitcalaveras #homedesign
