Talib has been learning to play the guitar. He was introduced to Nirvana and Metallica and I started to appreciate their music as well. I realized that we needed to balance out his exposure so I introduced him to Santana, Jimi Hendrix and BB King. Today was the first day we visited Guitar Center and he was in a new kind of playground. Electric guitars. Acoustic. Bass. He sampled them all. When it was time to go he cried. It was the same kind of tears he would shed when we would leave the playground and he wasn’t done running around. When we got to the car, I connected my phone and more Blues played automatically. He continues to cry with the Blues in the background. He cried for half the trip while the guitar sang his pain away. And everything seemed to make sense. ... #guitar #blues #shotoniphone
