I felt my eyes well up with tears a handful of times on this climb. All the preparation, all the self doubt, the counting down of days, the wondering and not knowing. With every crux that passed I would get a bit emotional, why? I’d never felt like this in the mountains before. I suppose it was because the climb passed with ease. I was emotional not because I was relieved it was over or because of how hard or scary it was, no. It was because I knew, standing at the top of the Moose’s Tooth, that I could play in these mountains with the rest of em.
