Since having my daughter, it has become increasingly important to me to be true to myself so she knows to always be true to herself. I think when we’re young, we’re so wild and free because there are no arbitrary expectations set for us yet... but as we grow, especially as women, society really boxes us in and tells us who/what we should be.. I realized that there were so many things I was holding myself back from before having her because I was worried about the judgement of others. Most of it may seem so trivial... but things like getting tattoos, getting my nose pierced, wearing certain clothes, cutting/dying my hair in fun ways... down to things I should/shouldn’t say, and my beliefs on certain topics didn’t fit this idea of what I thought others wanted from me... but it’s so freeing to let yourself be yourself. You should try it sometime if you haven’t already. 🖤 #fyp
