TIPS FOR THE WISER LADIES 👑
When it comes to makeup, there are things to consider to achieve best results for more mature women (read: wiser) 😝
A BIG 🔑: LESS IS MORE
So.... My top tips:
1. Always have their skin hydrated
I say this for everyone but especially mature ladies as their skin is usually on the dryer side. And use only gentle stuff as we don’t want the skin irritated / red. Treat it like its sensitive
2. Avoid using too much powder 👎
I powder only when the skin looks to dewy and only a teeeeeny tiny amount. My fav powder for this @charlottetilbury airbrush compact
3. I don’t do contour.
Why? Because it will just age them even more (this depends on the circumstances) as most ladies have already quite prominent hollow.
Most of the time I just use a nice cream blush and a touch of bronzer
4. No metallic/glittery highlights 🤗
I love a good healthy glow especially on mature skin, a liquid highlighter with a SHEEN, not glitter. My fav is @sephoraaus luminizier
5. Be very mindful with the brows. Go very very light handed as these ladies usually are not used to having their brows penciled in and also go with lighter shade even if their dark haired
6. Who says these queens can’t rock smokey eyes? ❌
Just because we have to go “less is more” on the skin, doesn’t mean eyes has to be bare bare. Just be aware don’t go too dark over the socket line and shimmer (SHIMMER, not glitter) only on the mobile lid
7. Mascara tend to transfer as usually they have excess skin on the eyes. So tubular mascara it is. I use @ponicosmetics white knight 🎠
8. I always lip line to bring back their lips definition 🫶
9. Finally, make sure the foundation you use is not drying. I still use @charlottetilbury airbrush flawless on some of my mature clients, buttt I mix it with @meccacosmetica @meccabeauty glow serum to keep it dewy and hydrated but long lasting
That’s all for the tips. Note that, I go case by case, face by face so no one size fits all, these are just rough guidelines. I hope you find it helpful and learnt something new 😉
