A respectful message to Liz Trump and your gruel of trickle up (oops, did I mean down?) zealots from a business owner now charged with delivering economic growth. I don’t need you to remove the cap on bankers’ bonuses I need you to get banks actually lending to SMEs and startups. I don’t need you to find me shale gas for a short term fix I need you to subsidise renewable energy so that a few of us are not trying to tackle the climate emergency on our own. I don’t need you to inflate executive pay, I need you to arrange taxation so that my whole team keep pace with your money printing inflation and stand a chance of progressive pay in real terms. I don’t need you to incentivise water poisoning, house flooding, nature killing farming, I need you to help me, even force me, to do business that respects the environment and promotes human health and well being.
