It is such sad news with the passing of this man. Doug McKean was a phenomenal recording engineer who worked on so many great records that you would know and love. He was my partner in sound on the Underclass Hero album and also came back to help us record drums on tape as recently as Order In Decline. He always gave me so much great advice about gear and recording techniques. I still use all of his tips, tricks and gear choices every time I’m in the studio. On top of his skills, he was such a funny guy who made us all laugh the whole way through the Underclass recording sessions. He really will be missed. My last conversation with him was very recently and he was recommending that we do some recording at United Recording studios again because even though it was always great, it has actually improved.
