This day ended in a long retreat back to our base camp on the glacier far below. Navigating crevasses in the pitch black of 3am. It was a hard decision to turn around from so high on route even though all the facts pointed towards it being the right one. Weather rolling in, moving too slow in deep soft snow, and a complicated descent made it a bit easier to make. Mount Dan Beard was wild and a true highlight of the trip!
