1⁄3 of the 1.8 million incarcerated population identifies as Latino. No matter what we look like or where we come from, we all want to know we can make it home to our families at the end of the day. Many of us know we need to stand up, work together and imagine a new world for public safety. To do that, we must educate ourselves. As David Rogers, Programs Officer at Ford Foundation puts it, "We can't really transform this country's approach to criminal justice without a deeper understanding of the history and current manifestations of mass incarceration and mass criminalization of Latinx people."
