Thanks everyone for listening to/sharing “Rose” 🌹 One of the bright spots of the last year or so is that I’ve gotten to spend more time outdoors than I have in ages. During a time when I was typically stressed beyond my mind, I’ve learned there was something profoundly calming about standing under a thousand year old Sequoia. Rose was born from a guitar riff I’ve had kicking around for a few years. I wrote the words during the pandemic while entertaining a fantasy of starting a new life somewhere in the woods. Fast forward to today; I’m back in LA after a trip to the UK where I got to see friends, family and overindulge in great food, drink, and the use of the word “cheeky.” As amazing as it feels to get closer to normal, I feel overwhelming grateful for all the green spaces and tall trees I have the privilege to live among. 🌲 🌳 🌹
