If you would have told 16 year old Carly that she would be featured in @voguemagazine alongside @ashleygraham one day, she would have laughed in your face. 16 year old Carly never felt good enough. 16 year old Carly never felt comfortable in front of the camera. 16 year old Carly was doing everything she could to shrink herself. 16 year old Carly was in a very dark place and experiencing an eating disorder she thought she would live the rest of her life with. Fast forward to now - 27 year old Carly is recovered. 27 year old Carly just finished her MSW to become an eating disorder therapist. 27 year old Carly no longer spends her time trying to shrink herself. 27 year old Carly has become comfortable in taking up space. 27 year old Carly gets to spend every day showing younger individuals that you do not have to hate your body, that you do not have to spend your time shrinking yourself, and that you worthy of love no matter your size. Thank you @ashleygraham and @knix for allowing me to celebrate my body alongside so many other beautiful women! Thank you for allowing me to show the world thar recovery is possible and that you do not have to live the rest of your life hating your body, restrciting yourself of the foods you love, and feeling like your eating disorder will be a part of you for the rest of your life. Thank you for showcasing so many beautiful bodies and helping people all over the world know that they deserve to feel sexy and confident no matter their race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, ability, or size of their body!
