“black bodies in motion” creative direction by me photography by @puerilemind muses @x_nalet_ @shookerd @sage.sage.sage.sage.sage.sage for @by.merkebah this body of work explores a duality of being. showcasing and displaying androgyny, the strength of the masculine while embracing the feminine. for black men especially, it’s not something that’s usually expressed when in conversation about their strength. the balance of both energies is the true power. here they’re captured in motion both striking, also soft, in these hairstyles, but with warrior symbols painted on and around them. meanings are 🌀 greatness mother earth mortality support loyalty the yin and yang. their appearance seemingly contrasting, actually coincide. grateful to this team for believing in and helping me carry out this vision!!!
