There’s time! —- @philjonesbass announced that its annual Solo Bass Competition will occur November 4th 2022 at the @labellastrings showroom at @theguitarshopnyc The contest, which has become a popular Fall tradition, will feature ten talented bassists that will compete for valuable prizes contributed by each of the participating sponsors. The 2022 sponsors include NS Design, Michael Tobias Design (MTD), Breedlove Guitars, Cordial Cables USA, Ortega Guitars, and Animal Pedals. The twelve finalists are selected in advance after submitting video auditions for consideration. Criteria: Theme, Form, Wow Factor, Chops and Technique, Sound / Tone, Groove and Timing. The event is well supported by the local bass and musician community in the NYC area and attracts players from the area and beyond. The Solo Bass Contest was originally conceived by Michael Albronda of PJB who will carry on the tradition as master of ceremonies of the 2022 event. Audition videos are now being accepted.
