Waking up in Florence on my birthday for the second time in my life, only on this occasion, with my family and a hell of a lot more perspective. The past year has probably been the most formative of my life - becoming a mom and growing a business against the backdrop of our current cultural climate has shown me that life can be simultaneously good and hard, long and impossibly short.
