A few weeks ago, we read an article from a British writer about how plant-based drinks in tea tasted like “Satan’s diarrhea,” and that seemed to be a bit extreme compared to, say, “I don’t like it.” Or, “It’s not for me.” And we were a bit confused as to why adding anything other than cow’s milk to tea would create such a fierce reaction. What is it about tea in the UK that people hold so dear? Would you sell your extensive collection of crisp packets, which includes a rare cheese and onion flavor from 1982, rather than change your tea-drinking habits? And finally, do people actually detest a dash of oat drink in their cuppa? We didn’t have the answers to any of these questions, so we decided to consult the experts, THE GREAT BRITISH PUBLIC.
