There’s a series finale airing tonight. Filming the Roswell pilot feels like yesterday and a lifetime ago. (For one thing... everybody’s quit smoking by now. 😂) This journey included so many personal highlights for me: I’ve been writing songs since I was 14, but “Would You Come Home” is the first one anyone ever heard. Episode 203, “Good Mother,” boldly presented the gruesome, deadly consequences of abortion bans. We pushed hard against the absolute horror of our country’s shameful treatment of asylum-seekers. We raised money for LGBTQ youth and folks whose livelihood was devastated by Covid. But the thing I will always be most proud of is assembling such an incredible cast. Jeanine, Nathan, Vlamis, Lily, Heather, Tyler, Trevino, Amber, Karan, Carlos, Trevor, and all the unbelievably talented guest stars who joined the ride along the way have only just begun to show you all what they’re capable of in front of AND behind the camera — least four of them are already filmmakers in their own right. The crew were all spectacular — it’s no secret that we were working with a tiny budget (and volatile weather, and later Covid restrictions, etc etc etc) which meant going the extra mile to make everything beautiful, and they always did. From camera to props to music to costumes to stunts to SFX & VFX to hair & makeup to electrical to locations — the best in the business came to our little corner of Santa Fe and exceeded all expectations. The hardworking assistants/support staff that kept the whole machine running. The writers and producers and editors were all fucking geniuses — especially Chris Hollier & Lance Armstrong & my beloved friend Julie Plec. Thank you guys for landing the UFO! I will be forever grateful. And the fans. Thank you for caring so much. Don’t take your eyes off these folks... they’re out of this world. ❤️👽❤️ as always... ONWARDS.
