“People stare at me @courtwildson all the time, and not in a good way. • I’m often hiking by myself which means that I’m also taking pictures of myself with a tripod. I have long blonde curled hair, fur boots and a Pom hat. I’m just another basic influencer to them, nothing more. • Some people stare, whisper or even take pictures of me in mockery. Today I heard someone say, “That’s what it looks like hiking by yourself.” And they were also probably thinking, “what a try hard.” My first thought was if only they knew who I was. • How I was a spartan athlete who ran up the trail almost passing them. How I was being paid to take the picture they were making fun of. How I’ve hiked over 200 trails. If only they knew how capable I am, how I’m an experienced women in the wilderness. If only I could prove myself. So that they wouldn’t mock me. • You never have to prove yourself. You know exactly who you are and that’s absolutely enough. I constantly have to remind myself of this. Never lower yourself to show others what you already know inside. Don’t let anyone else ever let you feel that you’re less. • You are exactly you and your the only person who must understand that. Knowing inside that your worthy is enough. We all have our own stories and never let anyone make you feel like yours isn’t special. Stand out, let them take a photo, because damn you’re ‘gram worthy.” • • • We Are Women Owning Our Wild We Are #GoGalavanting
