This is what could happen if you try to back away from a approaching tiger shark. I postured up to this tiger shark with eye contact and noticed she was very intent on coming up to me. Trying to avoid contact I turned to the side and backed away from the shark, but I also splashed as I moved to retreat which made her more excited and enticed her to follow me. I had to switch gears and engage. This tiger shark didn’t want me as food, just super curious with my retreating behavior and some splashing acting like a hurt injured animal. Tiger sharks role in the environment is to remove dead or injured animals, to keep the ocean ecosystems healthy.
