Equinor invests heavily in greenwashing ads in Norway, positioning itself as a ‘responsible’ energy company committed to net zero. Meanwhile, they are relentlessly investing in new oil and gas fields... Exposing equinor’s true colours and removing their social licence to operate is crucial to stopping Rosebank and all of Equinor’s destructive projects. This day of action is coordinated by activists in both the U.K. and Norway, which is a great step towards showing active solidarity between our campaigns. Campaigners are resisting Equinor around the world, including in Argentina, Canada and Norway. Together, we will raise and damage the profile of Equinor both in the U.K. and abroad. Luckily for us, there is a precedent of Equinor dropping out of projects which threaten their reputation. In 2020, Equinor abandoned plans to drill for oil in the great Australian bight, following widespread public opposition from the Fight the Bight campaign. @equinor, I hate to break it to you, but we’re all joining forces and it’s not looking too good for you.
