FLÜGGER X MATE REPRESENTS: COLOUR SPLASH At PRIDE OPENING ON AUG. 13TH At this year's opening day of Copenhagen Pride, Flügger and MATE will honour the performance art of vogueing, a style of dance rooted in the underground LGBTQIA+ Ballrooms of Harlem, New York in the 1980s, in an exclusive live art installation. Dance and art, as much as colour, are a vessel through which we can express individuality, creativity and queerness. Similarly, expression is a powerful tool for all to show their colours in the way most desired. For MATE, personal freedom is at the core, leading to the ‘Show your colours’ campaign with a bike representing a white canvas. For Flügger, freedom is shown by Bax and how the Ballroom community has helped him to freedom. The paint symbolizes how our personalities are shaped by different colours, how we are expressing it differently and how the people surrounding us should accept us just as we are. 'Colour Splash of Freedom' is our physical ode to the freedom of expressing and being who you truly are!
