Ahead of the State Visit by The President of South Africa in November, Their Majesties have attended a landmark exhibition at the @VAMuseum, which celebrates the creativity, ingenuity and global impact of African fashion. The exhibition showcases significant designers, design collectives, stylists and photographers working in Africa today. Over 250 objects drawn from the personal archives of a selection of iconic mid-twentieth century and influential contemporary African fashion creatives, alongside textiles and photographs from the V&A’s collection are on display – many for the first time. The King and The Queen Consort’s tour highlighted African craftsmanship and textiles in traditional and contemporary fashion from across the Commonwealth - including 🇿🇦 South Africa, 🇳🇬 Nigeria, 🇬🇭 Ghana, 🇨🇲 Cameroon, 🇲🇱 Mali and 🇷🇼 Rwanda.
