@photovogue Festival 2022 is coming! At BASE Milano from November 17 to 20. “The Next Great Fashion Image Makers”: today we introduce @imraanchristian (South Africa). #ImraanChristian is one of the 40 artists selected for this exhibition through our first Global Open Call by an international jury among more than 30,000 images and 3.000 artists from 121 different countries! The open call is endorsed by all the editions of Vogue globally. #ImraanChristian’s project that will be exhibited is titled “NTU”. Ntu is a name for the ancestor of all tribes from the southern region of Africa - a home for the roots and the soil that has grown into the giant tree of creativity feeding African creatives and her diaspora. The story "NTU" finds its place as a constellation within the greater framework of "Ma Se Kinders" which exhibited with photovogue in Milan in 2020, but what makes NTU truly unique is the attempt to explore African mythologies and folk tales through the use of fashion and storytelling. By incorporating designers that are on the forefront of taking Africa to the world, NTU becomes a meeting place for contemporary fashion, and ancient indigenous storytelling to meet, and what is born from it is a space of pure possibility , excitement and rich heritage.
