This summer, trail crews will continue improving key sections of the Teton Crest Trail (TCT) in @grandtetonnps. During construction, loose materials such as rocks may move downhill and for safety purposes there will be intermittent 30-minute closures near the summit of Paintbrush Divide. These closures will occur between July 21-26, August 4-9, and August 18-23. Visitors planning to hike over Paintbrush Divide during these dates should expect delays in both directions. . . The forty-five mile TCT is perhaps the most iconic backcountry hiking trail in Grand Teton. Sections of the trail were first built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps. Since then, the TCT has persisted largely untouched. Decades of use on the trail, coupled with natural annual erosion processes, have led to deteriorating trail conditions that necessitate repair and improvement. This marks the third year of the effort to renew the TCT and we are proud to play a role in supporting the park with this priority project.
