Hi everyone!! I wanted to say hello and thank everyone for all your support over my journey to launch Ateh Jewel Beauty. It’s been such a long slog wading through misogyny and racism for the past 4 years being told continuously that black doesn’t sell, having white in the base of foundations is standard, reformulating for deeper skin tones isn’t worth the expense or R&D and lots of nonsense and I wanted to remind myself why I’m doing this. There’s so many brands I love and admire but this is my love letter to you and to my 15 year self who always felt on the outside, othered, marginalised and like a tag on to the end of beauty ranges. To anyone who needs to hear it you are the centre, you are celebrated, express yourself, play, be joyful and do you because being your authentic self is more than enough to be happy and win.
