My thighs jiggle as I walk and squish together when I stand. Red and purple stretch marks lace my thighs, butt, breasts and hips. Dimples cover my legs and are often found on my upper arms. My back rolls when I stand, and my tummy bounces when I tap it. My vulva is covered with pubic hair but is occasionally laced with bumps and ingrown hairs. My breasts sag when I stand and flop outwards when I lay, and the spider veins on my inner thighs go a deep blue when I’m hot.
These are normal, human things about the features of my body. Normal things I see on my body every single day. But you may not be able to see as we’re not always able to see these things just by looking at a photo or video. But you must know these things are there. Because it’s important you know, you are not alone. It’s vital you know that hip-dips, stretch marks, cellulite, softness, body hair, razor bumps, scars, skin folds, spider veins, rolls and soft tummies are NORMAL things we all have.
I encourage you to get to know your body. Explore, touch, feel and truly look at it. I urge you to trace over the dimples on your thighs. From there, you’ll notice how your dimples resemble crashing waves and water droplets. Grab hold of your softness and see how it jiggles, bounces and rolls. Marvel at every line, wrinkle and crease and appreciate the beauty that is your body because you don’t have a body that needs fixing. You simply have a body. A body lined with stories and memories. A golorious body that is allowed to be soft and take up space. A body that will grow, change, roll, squish and will constantly evolve. As it’s supposed too.
