My hero. My inspiration. My best friend. The most badass and toughest lawyer I’ve ever known. My dad, Damon Blake Willis, passed away this week. My dad fought cancer for 8 long years. During those years, he lived every day to the fullest. Going on trips around the world and doing it all with a smile on his face. It was best said by Muhammad Ali, who said, “Don’t count the days, make the days count.” My dad was a fighter, and despite thousands of hours of chemotherapy, radiation, and the odds, he kept moving forward. Regardless of how dire it may have seemed at certain times, he never quit and he never gave up. “Never tell me the odds.” Han Solo Dad did not lose the war against cancer because, while it might have destroyed his body, cancer never took his bravery, his determination, and his spirit. He lived an incredible life, and he did it his way. We had 8 more years than originally anticipated, and I wouldn’t change a thing because those 8 years were the best! I have always felt blessed and honored to be his son, and now I am prepared, as well as my brother, to carry on his legacy and name for eternity. In the meantime, your thoughts, prayers, and support would mean a lot. I will forever miss you, dad, and I love you “to the moon and back.” ❤️❤️❤️
