~ NOTE: I make this post after 12 days of no posts. 12 days of being on the Western Wildlands Route heading south from Canada after completing the Great Divide Mountain Biking Route. 12 days of much less cell coverage and much less time taken off the route. Bare with me as I try to play catch up as best I can. Thank you. ~ Man, leaving the hinterland of the Wind River Range without setting foot in them is not something that I enjoy. Even though the mosquitos are typically dreadful (and they were at this time) I still love those mountains more than any other we have in the lower 48. But I must press on and make my way for Grand Teton National Park. Have to cut between the Winds and the Gros Ventre to get to Togwotee Pass and cut down to the park. While en route to Grand Teton, I took not only my first spill of the ride, but also my second spill of the ride. And they were 30 mins apart from one another. The first spill I was ejected from my bike completely and and almost tossed into a tree during a very steep and bouldery descent. The second spill I was taking a gravel turn far too aggressively and my bike slid out from under me and my arm and hip took the brunt of the trauma. Nothing major. No structural damage to me OR my bike, just had to straighten out my handlebars. Just some superficial wounds that would take time to heal. No harm no foul and the lesson has been learned. Close call! Also I ran into another @ridepriority 600x Adventure Bike out there! It’s been a commonly popular choice for lots of riders I’ve come across. @gaiagps @ridepriority @mountainsmith
