Loosely translated to the contemporary expression “Necessity is the mother of invention”, Plato’s republic hints at that which drives innovation. Disability is rich ecosystem requiring solutions to unique and specific challenges for countless individuals. Often the solutions to these needs end up benefiting the broader population. Designing with the needs of those individuals in mind, one can often stumble upon competitive advantage.
