The Prince’s Foundation is opening a new exhibition at The Garrison Chapel, Chelsea Barracks in January 2023. 'Parts of the Whole: A movement towards harmonious places' will look at the recent movement towards harmony in the built and natural environments. The exhibition will showcase The Prince’s Foundation’s work over the last 30 years, championing the message and approach of harmony – how the parts relate to the whole. The Prince’s Foundation works with communities and partners around the country and the world, practising and championing a sustainable approach to how we live our lives and build our communities. From heritage-led regeneration through to new build projects, we do this through assisting, advising and taking the lead. Dr Sydney Ayers Mercer, Tutor in Architecture and Urbanism at The Prince’s Foundation, said: “'Parts of the Whole' is part retrospective, looking at the impact of the Vision of Britain and other early work; part contemporary as it shares ongoing work, teaching and research; and part forward looking by showing how The Prince’s Foundation and others are addressing current challenges.” The exhibition will additionally showcase how The Prince’s Foundation’s work has informed systemic change and led dialogue and action in the UK as well as internationally. Alongside recognising the work of The Prince’s Foundation, 'Parts of the Whole' will also highlight the work that has been, and continues to be, undertaken by partners and networks as part of this movement. The exhibition will feature work across the built and natural environments – from community engagement and stewardship, to rapid planning and environment and health.
