Someone snapped a pic of me at a @tcnj_official Alumni Event in NYC last night. Networking! Back in my element. 😀 I realized next month it will be 20 years since that fat envelope came in the mail telling me I'd been accepted into TCNJ's Class of 2007. 🤯 (I applied early decision.) Wow. I think kids these days find out via email. I feel old -- and yet, I can transport myself back to that moment like it was yesterday. 2022 felt light-years away for 16-yr-old Tammy. It never crossed my mind I'd be living in NYC, kissing my ridiculously cute baby (and husband!) goodbye as I headed out the door, hopped on the subway, and attended this cocktail reception at Sony HQ (where a '96 grad is a top exec). Overlooking a glittering NYC skyline. Meeting alumni of different generations but with the same memories of Travers and Wolfe. Trustee on my name tag. That acceptance letter opened up a whole new world for me. So here I am chatting with two outstanding '22 grads looking for TV production jobs (anyone hiring?) Their ambition felt so familiar. (And they knew @stf_tcnj too, which makes me so proud of our campus chapter program!) Best part of the night. I am so grateful for TCNJ for believing in me, way back then and now.
